Eagle contract
Righto people. Somebody needed to start this thread. What are your thoughts on the proposed settlement? We got 4% over 3 years. I hear the jet boys got 5.2%
. Can anybody confirm that?

G'Day 'Spinner',
I'm obviously NOT connected to your situation, however;
- Does this 4% cover inflation over the 3 year period?
If not, then I would venture you didn't get very much at all....
All the best,

Spinner,
If you're an ALPA member then you would have got an email from the the ALPA Industrial Director spelling out what Air NZ and Eagle negotiated.
Air NZ 5.2% followed by 4.5%
Eagle's actual % weren't mentioned as again I believe the increases were varible based on rank and service, but the guaranteed AirNZ interview clause was a goodie, nice work
If it was on avaerage 4%/year for 2 or 3 years I would think you could be happy with that, given the current climate.

Is there any terms for the guaranteed AirNZ interview for the Eagle guys?
If they are successful in Interview for AirNZ, Eagle can still say "take any more pilots and we can't operate the schedule", and Air NZ has to take pilots from elsewhere despite how many Eagle pilots might be on a yes letter.
...or is this where they would get replaced by the pilots from the new cadet training scheme being set up by Air NZ?

There is nothing too specific in the contract. Simply that one is guaranteed an interview within 18 months of a valid application (ie. meet all AirNZ minimums at time of application) and that at the time of interview must have been with Eagle for a min of 24 months.
It all seems pretty reasonable to me and it looks like its designed around the 3 yr bond, as few would be able to join Eagle and have the mins for AirNZ within 6 months of starting at Eagle. However, it's much better than nothing and at least your guaranteed a chance to know whether your in or out, rather than treading water wondering if the uni degree would have helped you out!!
We'll just have to sit back and see how it works now.

Hiya sqwark, havent heard you round the traps for a while.
I agree with you as there have been no mention of % increase.
On the whole the contract looks good-given the current aviation climate. Sure, Eagle pilots could have held out for what they are worth but may have found themselves facing redundency or such, as is happening the world over. I think the term is swings and roundabouts, some of the new "kiddys" at Eagle may not understand this concept given they have no life experience...
All it needs is everyone to send their ballot papers back asap so they can pay out the dollars.
On the whole, I think a good result for the crew in a fairly good time.
Unfortunatly the guys/gals at Air Nsn arent so lucky.

Always inverted you know that people who live in this stupid aviation world have no concept of reality...I find myself turning more and more into one of the weirdos who we used to laugh at once..(we need to do a couple of days at the panel shop to get regrounded huh? What would we do with all the money but)

Where's that stat holiday backpay that was supposed to have been paid last week? or is the payment tied into the ratification of the contract?

Matty, leave me and my cool little bubble alone. I wish it was a bit bigger and I wish it gave me more time off... Thinking back I realise how nice it is to be in a nice job. Still have to fly with some complete idiots but hey, cant have it both ways. When you in the left seat ??
