I saw a pommy journo the other night on the 7.30Report being interviewed by Kerry Obrien (who I can't stand) and the topic was exactly that.
He claims that the ratio of Real investigative journo's to PR and marketing folk has swung to such an extreme that there is no time in a journo's day but to reprocess news from around the world and basically churn out rubbish.
Thats how we get so much incorrect reporting where facts are optional.... time permitting!
Of course this is not news to us on PPRUNE, as the boofheads who print stuff off here as "fact" have been easily sprung in the past!
Maybe they should print this thread.
Funny how when I have written to these idiots pointing out the errors of their ways, they never reply........ too busy copy 7 pasting the next big story!

It's almost as big as one of my Sunday afternoon runway beatups. No law has been broken if the pilot / fo was in the right seat and who's to say that anyone was even a passenger in the aircraft (not that it matters from a legal perspective).
Aside from Company Operational Procedures and the bad publicity, no harm done.

BTW, What's with those stupid Kimono things that QF International wear. It's the most ugly non-flattering piece of material that anyone could wrap themselves in! If there was an emergency they would struggle to get out in one of those it's that bad. JetStar's uniform is much more practical in that sense.
