Good flying schools on the Central Coast

Does anyone have any opinions of the flying schools around the Central Coast? eg. Warnervale (5 mins from my house), and Hunter Valley Aviation at Cessnock?

Does anyone know of any other goods ones? Any I should stay away from? Any good/bad experiences?

I don't really want to travel to Bankstown.

Cheers guys.

I fly from the Central Coast Aero club at Warnervale. In my opinion, they provide good quality training through experienced instructors. The aircraft are not the newest in the world but are well maintained. PM me if you have any specific questions. Cheers.

From my observation and experience @ Cessnock it might pay to look at the other training school on the field apart from HVA. There are two to choose between and I know which one I would choose.

Go up and maybe do a TIF (trial introductory flight) with each school and use that to get a bit of a feel and go from there. TIF's are not too expensive and are a good way of getting a chance to talk to the instructors and gain insights as to what place suits you. It is normally a discount flight and don't forget you can log the time also!

Cessnock on the Central Coast???? Wasn't last time I did my Navs.

You're not sniffing for a review on YWVA are you?? Just ask the question ...

What are people's experiences with Warnervale Air and the CCA?

There will be VERY FEW bad comments. Clubs friendly, Flying school is well run and the training environment is spot on.

So just do ya self the favour and do the 5 minute long haul down the road to see Wayne and the boys.

VB
You know it makes sense.

Sorry for the thread dig up, but im doing flying training at Warnervale and have zero complaints about the service. I havent flow anywhere else and i certainly dont feel the need to go anywhere else.

I just hope the airport doesnt close too soon.

I did my CPL and CMIR 10 years ago at Avondale College School of Aviation. These guys moved to Cessnock when YCOB closed. Many of the staff who taught me then are still there now.

They have more aircraft and instructors than Warnevale, and the CPL course is well structured and includes formal ground schooling if you so desire. I've only got good stuff to say about them.

I think though, Warnevale is probably quite a good place to fly if you're just focussed on single engine PPL stuff. It's training area is nicer than Cessnock's and it sounds like it's pretty handy to your home.
