Cessna 206 rating in NZ

Hey,

I'm wanting to get a Cessna 206 rating and then head over to Africa.

The general consensus is that it would be beneficial to have one before heading over there.

Just wondering if anyone knows of anywhere I would be able to get a rating in a 206 in NZ.

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Digging up the past. Any word on the street for 206 rating/hire?

There is a privately owned one at Ardmore which I believe is available for hire for type ratings, don't have contact details though sorry. Air Wakatipu in Queenstown may also still be able to do them although not sure if they still offer training now the aero club side of it has become dormant.

Air Wakatipu
Air Milford
Southern Alps Air
Fly Fiordland
Wings over water (float)

if any will do ratings or not is beyond my knowledge.

MAF have just got a C206 and I believe they are doing ratings in it, I think a few people have already done one. Its based in Blenheim, but it gets flown around the country quite a bit, so they could possible come to you.
