Picking flight school in AU or NZ...

Hello all,

Being a pilot has always been my dream. I am, recently, thinking of starting with getting my PPL.

I was chooing between Basair and Melbourne Flight Training but prolly Melbourne flight training since it seems that most pilot who learnt there had much better experience?

Could anyone please also recommend some good flight schools in AU and also NZ? for some reasons, I had harder time gather NZ good flight schools info.

Thank you very much in advance!

If you want more for your money and experienced instructors who aren't off to the airlines next week but will be available for your full course try Sunland Aviation, Archerfield.

thank you very much for the replies!

Unfortunately, Melbourne flight training is full atm and have a long waiting list. I guess I will have to find another school.

Just sent an enquiry to Moorabbin Flying Services (which Glen Buckley of MFT recommended in his email). Any one know about his school?

Is Peter Bini Advanced flight training the same as Bini flight training?

Does any of these schools provide any sort of accommdations?

Thanks!

Bay Flight @ NZTG Tauranga.

Owner, Phill Hooker, is a bloody legend!

Old fleet of 152's, IFR 172, Seneca 1 but very good management. Wx is good in TG too.

They've got one of those NZ built 737 copy-cat sims which they sell flights to the public. Pretty certian they got it licensed to use for PPL/CPL training - instrument ground etc. Heard they'd been planning some other higher level uses for it. Those things are sold as trainers overseas.

Speaking of Hooks, long overdue for a Coruba and Coke with him - just as long as he doesn't pour them!!

Sunland

mates_rates, how does Sunland achieve the feat not to lose their instructors to the airlines at the moment?

Just curious, I've recently incurred significant delays and additional costs because several senior instructors got their start dates much faster than expected, and finishing MECIR/CPL and other advanced training is getting complicated

Was it one of those Mike Pero aka Flight Experience sims?
