Broome Bishop?

Hey another quick question for any current or previous broome guys, the cp from broome av said that some of the guys got some 210 time flying the bishop in broome around, apparently he owns his own a/c.
Does anyone have any details or info that might help here with this guy?? I need some 210 time to increase my chances of scoring a job up here.
Cheers Guys!

Ii used to fly the bishob Jobst (I think that's the spelling) C210 pvt hire back in the 80's, what a charactor he was. He's probably gone now to his boss "up" there!. There's many a funny story about that man:-)
UPDATE: I see by the link posted here (TY) that Bishop Jobst may very well be still frightening the locals ! God's speed, to them !

I just have to tell about one 'incident' (funny now) how I took a few friends for a ride up past Koolin Is & down the Prince Regent river in old BDR only to find that the alternator sh*t itself enroute leaving zip in the electrical storage container (battery), oh well no full sar anyway & the caravan park people knew roughly where we where going so after about 2 hrs wandered on back down the coast back to broome (nice in those days, stuffed now) & did a manual gear ext flapless, nice & hot, the weather too !
Does anybody recall old Jobst used to open the hangar doors, jump in start up taxi straight out onto the rwy (towards the beach) & blast off regardless of the AWA F28 on short final? And his adventure with his C182 and a couple of Nuns re hand proping? Ah those where the days, it's changed so much now the fun has gone out of it

Bishop Jobst - what a character he was.

I don't know how true this is but someone once told me that Jobst was also a submarine commander during the war. If that's true, he certainly has led a very interesting life from sailor to pilot to bishop.

The last time I heard BDR was still owned by the Bishop of Broome's Office but leased out to Broome Air Services on a dry hire basis (I think) for non Bishop charters. And when the Bishop's Office want to fly they just add on the cost of a pilot and a bit more...

BAS also do the 50's and 100's on it so I guess they will get some money back from that.

It sits in that hangar alot from memory and doesnt really do that much work.

If your looking at building hours there are plenty of places to do it at, most companies these days would like you to have C200 series time, but alot will also give you a start even if you dont have time. Few people have left BAS over the past week or so....(so the grapevine tells me...poor management techniques and not looking after their crew...again) so there might be a job going there, but if you want hours go to King leo's or Broome Av in Broome or Sling/AA in Kunners..

Not too sure how accurate the above is, it is a rumour network after all!

Used to fly RTE when I got the urge - along with a few others.
Did the 'Santa' thing for the kids in RTE a couple of times.

I think guys we must have passed each other for sure. I used to also do the Mobil refueling @ Broome for I think the owners name was Henshal or something like that he had the agency there.
Also flew DOJ an old C172 station plane belonging to the Nanutarra property, a blocked pitto going into Hedland guessing the actual IAS (not 160 as shown!) was charactor building stuff!!! Last time I flew the old Bishops C210 BDR was down to Jandakot for maintenance, ahhhh the good 'ole days! Anywat Derby was an AFIS right?
