More info sent through last night.......
Hi All
CABOOLTURE AEROCLUB OPEN DAY , SUNDAY 17TH August 2008:
On Sunday the 17th August 2008, the Caboolture Aero club has organised an Open Day and Fly-in at the Caboolture Airfield. As part of the public car parking and crowd control a section of Aerodrome Road and the adjacent Mc Naught Rd will be closed from 08h00 to 17h00 for the general public.
In order to have your co-operation, assistance and most valued support for this event, some points for consideration.
a)Aircraft Owners of aircraft parked in the current public parking area, will not be able to move aircraft on the day between 0800 and 17h00.
b)Hangers 1-54 inclusive, will be cordoned off for the day, due to public movement – having said this, the Aero club would welcome you to open your hangar and show your aircraft as part of a public display on the day.
c)Runway 06/24 will NOT be available for use on Sat 16th and Sun 17th August 2008.
d)Vehicle access to the airfield for permit holders will be facilitated via the alternate access opposite the Gyro hangar between 08h30 and 16h30 on Sunday 17th August 2008, however, the Aero club request a minimum movement of cars through this area during this time.
e)Visiting Aircraft will be directed to park in the area of the Main Windsock – there will be a “FOLLOW ME” ute operating on the day
f)AN INBOUND UNICOM service will be available on 118.8 for the day
g)GROUND CONTROL will be facilitated through 131.85 on the day
h)Anticipate lots of movements for the day and be patient on the day
i)We need more VOLUNTEERS and welcome ANY assistance – contact details follow below
j)THERE WILL BE A PRIZE FOR THE BEST STATIC DISPLAY ON THE DAY – SO, PLEASE JOIN IN AND DISPLAY YOUR AIRCRAFT – contact details below
The purpose of this OPEN DAY is to promote the airfield in the interest of MAINTAINING an EXTENDED LEASE and therefore, your ENTHUSIASTIC SUPPORT AND ASSISTANCE is required to make this BUDGET event one that we can be proud of and one that we can all say , we did our best !! – SO, PLEASE SUPPORT THE CLUB and hopefully any inconvenience will be outweighed by the huge benefits the club hopes to achieve by this effort.
Also, our website EVENTS page is now updated and we will see more and more happening. I encourage you to use the website and contribute as much as you can.

Here's one for Chuckles!
Decision, decisions - which one will I take today?
I would have taken the big one to YCAB this morning - but the taxiways are a bit narrow!
Oh, and the second most sexy aeroplane at YCAB today!
From the radio chatter this afternoon, that must have been the only 'FD' aircraft in Qld not out working today!
.... and a big thumbs-up for ATC! They even gave us an Olympics update:
YYY: Centre, how did Hackett get on?
Centre: Silver by 0.8 secs
YYY: Bugger!
Centre: I'm sure he feels the same way!
Dr
PS: .... and Pyro tangled with the FTDK and lived to fly another day!
