Just curious as to what people think as to how often you should email or call a prospective employer if you havent heard anything after your application, and or received a reply saying we will get back to you

When I used to employ - It was always second nature to reply to them via email [or phnone] to let them know how they went / faired against other canditates.
I always got a positive response and have kept in contact with many prospective employees over recent times.
Nowdays, I havn't recruited for a while and sadly when recently applied to a job I had no hope for I didnt even get a single peepy

Thanks Skystar
have had a couple of replies
such as
you are on the short list
we are looking to employ in sept and you are still under consideration
what is an appropriate time frame to ask what is the status of my application

Damned if you do, damned if you don't....
In my experience I had CP's who hated being bothered by candidates who contacted them often but also those who leant towards employing the keen ones.
Good to get an inside opinion before sticking your neck out.

Well, if he doesnt want to be bothered by them then he should be sending a reply (even email) back to them saying basically "ive got it, you currently are/are not competitive because <reason>, you are/are not being kept on file, thankyou"
Then they know the score, and don't have to call him to make sure that it did in fact turn up in the mailbox.
IMHO anyway.
