Baron down near Alice

I heard on centre, 18JUL08 (Friday) a Baron called a Mayday and was going to put down around 70nm AS, fuel related. I know the rego but no need for a slinging match, the main thing I we all would like to know is if all safe n sound? I haven't seen anything on the news which should/could be a good thing?? If no major investigation pending, maybe some facts on what happened, it may save someone else from running into trouble doing the same thing if it wasn't mechanical??

Heard part of this myself, & believe it was due to stronger than expected head winds. Apparently he already had a low fuel warning light on starboard engine.
