How much is a litre (or Kg) of Jet fuel in Australia? Any one know what the airlines are paying?

I think Sky News this morning suggested Qantas are paying $180 per barrel for JetA1, I assume AUD.

There are 158.987295 liters in a barrel of oil.

You do the sums!

(I suspect QF hedged price would still be far lower than that. I think they took some fairly long term hedge options in 2007.)

A barrel of oil is not equal to a 44 Imp gal/50 US gal/200 liter fuel drum.

If I were to refuel my King Air/PC12/whatever at SYD today, how much is the refueler going to charge me per litre of AVTUR/JetA1 supplied in tanks?

The spelling Nazi in my Word program and in PPRuNe suggests it is "200 liter" not "200 litre". Not something I really don't get excited about!

WhoFlung. On which day? They tell me Tuesday is the cheapest!

Rough calculations to go from the price of a barrel of oil to what it's worth per tonne is to multilply it by 10.
So if the price of a barrel is 145USD, then 1000kgs is about 1450USD.

I would have answered a lot earlier, but the first post said...
Any one know what the airlines are paying?
And they are paying consierably less than $1-80 per litre that us mere mortals pay!

Something like five years or so ago it used to be about US$300 a tonne.
(Don't quote me on that though)
If that's the case then I'd be expecting around US$1,000/tonne (roughly) now.
