IREX Syllabus anyone?
Hey I was just wondering if anyone knows where I can get some IREX Syllabus information (something similar to the VFR syllabus guide). The only thing I've found is the CAO requirements for a MECIR on the CASA website.
Also any other advice on what to expect in the exam would be muchly appreciated! Thanx in advance!

Hey Pilotett,
The CASA IREX Syllabus is located in CAO 40.2.1 Appendix III.
When I completed the IREX (about 6 ATPL exams ago
) it contained a significant number of questions on;
1. TAFs and TTFs relating to holding/alternate requirements,
2. Given VOR/ADF/DME data, find TE or drift, and
3. Interpret information from DAP plates
Try and obtain the "Instrument Rating Study Guide" from Bob Tait. I used it with some other supplementary material and pulled 95%
My final word of advice - make sure you read and then re-read every question. (almost got tripped up a few times)
