Redvliffe Event

Donuts are bad for your waist line and for aircraft on the ground if the rumour in the wind is correct.

Goss has it that an aircraft was destroyed at Redcliffe,Q. in the early hours of Thursday last week when a 17 y/o was doing donuts in his car on the tarmac. He lost control of the car and hit an aircraft effectively destroying same.

Now everyone is ducking for cover.

The driver is reported to be the son of a captain of an airline that recently increased fares and put some aircraft out to grass.

The end result of all this lack of control is that security at Redcliffe will probably go crazy and at the cost of the flyers, aircraft owners and potential users of Redcliffe. All for the sake of a bit of C&T.

Not good for Queensland flyers.

The local 'Bevans' (known as bogans elsewhere else in the world) have been using the airstrip and airport road at Redcliffe aerodrome for years now as a true sign of their intelligence by using it as a dragstrip/burnout pad.
Avgas has been reported stolen out of aircraft on many occasions. (Makes the 73 Monaro go harder!)

There was talk once upon a time of installing a fence/boom gates and a night guard. Obviously the local council cannot justify the expense.

A-HAHAHA, that is hardly fair, but I must admit the same thought passed through my head too!

Hope it wasn't you Pyro, but if it was - spill the beans mate!

And the council just installed 2-metre high fences to stop this kind of crap. The gates were to be locked at sunset - I guess this didn't happen.

Redcliffe City Council used to be a keen supported of the airfield. It is yet to be seen whether the super-council will offer the same...

Anyone know which aircraft was hit?

Sad state of affairs... I thought that big f%ck off fence the council put up would have stopped that sort of behavior...

YES, I am 17, I do drive, but I wasn't there last thursday morning AND my father has nothing to do with aviation whatsoever,

however, I could say it was me for the "15 minutes of fame", loss of ASIC, and complete destruction of my (yet to be build) Reputation!

And I have my own Alibi! I was in a maths Exam in the early hours of Thursday last week.

Thanks for all your confidence...

Doughies in a Subaru (all wheel drive).. Hell no!
Maybe thats why the 17y/o screwed up though?

I'm going flying this Thursday, I'll pull some doughnuts in the circuit..

It could've been my dads Mitsubishi Colt, but that'd probably just bounce off.. or just roll
