Crash at Georgetown

Just heard on the radio that a light plane is down at georgetown. Apparently the rescue chopper found the wreckage at 1530.

Does anyone know any more?

Hopefully it is just bad reporting.

Very sad. Was out flying this afternoon when Brisbane Centre was trying to raise this aircraft for a while, and at the same time a ****** aircraft confirming that an EPIRB was going off in that area. Had a chill down the spine when both events were going on at once! Unfortunately could only mean one thing.

Condolences to the family.

Condolences to all involved. Was that a Mac-Air aircraft that reported the beacon? And why on earth is that censored?

Coz you're not allowed to say Mac-air.

Condolences to the family and those close to the pilot.

Yep, please don't ever say ****** or ****** or all you will see is ****** or ******!

Which is kinda silly because it draws attention to the deleted words and makes people slip a hyphen in the middle of the word to get around the censor.

In the absence of any other information re this accident I think now might be a good time for Strutless Dr Killer to pop in and cancel SAR.
