I do believe the QantasLink traineeship simulator check gets the candidates to fly intercepts of both inbound and outbound tracks on a plain old ADF.

If you have "starboard drift" then the nose is pointed to the left of track. If you have "port drift" then the nose is pointed to the right of track (as viewed from the cockpit). This is how drift has always been defined. There is no "depends" about it.

QF2 is correct on both answers.
