With a 'Location: UK' I take it you're aware of work and residence requirements.
'Slim' would be a good word. along with 'Significant pay cut' (being 3 words)
otherwise, not a bad place to live.

If you like Rugby and you look good in Red or Black you will fit in perfectly!
If you want to water your garden or have sensitive lungs well you might struggle

There were recently (7?) direct entry commands available to suitably qualified pilots in CHC...positions advertised within Jetstar and no suitable applicants for CHC based captains apparently. This was a month or 2 ago.
From what I understand, you are paid and employed in Australia/Aussie dollars, but CHC domiciled. Sounds a little Michael Mouse to me and not sure about the tax implications or long term prospects of the base.
Get in touch with them directly if you are genuinely keen. I'm sure they would love to hear from you.

Elvis, I thought you'd left the building
DECs, well did you wear a blue shirt in a previous job or do you have C&T approval on the 'Bus ? if not, get in line. Commands currently around high 200s on the seniority list with the list going to around 470 odd.
Lots of A/C coming and lots of pilots that don't meet upgrade criteria, so maybe only 18 mths ?? to command.
Other thing, you can request CHC at your interview and end up in AD, ML, SY, etc etc, will depend on where you are needed at the time, having said that it doesn't seem to be too hard to get transferred once you are in.
Good luck with the Phsyc test, interview, planning exercise and sim !
Cheers

I have heard that CHC base has the best A320 flying in Jetstar. 95 hrs a month for about 12 days at work. home every night. ILS to ILS. The lads get payed out of Australia so enjoy an extra 15-20% pay when converted to kiwi dollars. cheap snow skiing season passes and possible to do standby days at Mt Hutt skiing which has full mobile phone coverage. Live anywhere in the city and still only 20mins to airport. Very cheap cars cause mainly Good Japanese imports. Phone, electricity a little more expensive than oz due no competition. You fly either 5am start or 2pm start. Kiwi flight attendants great tap em on the back of their head and their pants fall down.

A mate flies for JQ based out of CHC and loves it. Great affordable living and excellent rosters (for reasons mentioned above). Days off are spent skiing/fishing/bike riding and hiking/camping. Christchurch is a great place and the South Island of NZ is fantastic. I think it would be a great job.
