ACS Re-organisation.

With the new restructured ACS are we being set up to be sold bit by bit? The segmentation seems to indicate that with all the profitable areas ie those that are bringing money in are separated from those that don't. More managers to overesee smaller groups, makeing it easier to get rid of them when they finally decide its cheaper to outsource everything.
Its good to see that they have slipped it in while we're still bickering over the EBA hopeing to get it in under the radar no doubt.

What is everyone elses view on the subject.

Look I think its a good thing. We have seen some sensible developements in the company in the past 3 years since the current ACS leadership was appointed. It's amazing that somebody with no background in aviation such as M can come in and see all those things that previous managers overlooked such as -

• Why have type training when you can go camping instead
• Who needs spares, they cost money
• Promote DMMs and Seniors from the new LAME ranks, they have no idea what the job involves and don't find boken planes
• Get rid of storeman
• Don't replace staff that leave, they cost money
• Get rid of contracts, in fact why not get rid of Qantas work
• Tell LAMEs they aren't going to travel business class anymore and damn the consequences of breaching an EBA

Yes things are looking up. Qantas will make more money when the sections are sold off. Of course the third party suppliers (such as Rockwell Collins) will be top tier service providers and do it far cheaper. And my mum just called me, it's time to worm the cat so I have to go now. bye
