2nd Bite at QF cherry ???

howdy all,
I came back to OZ the other week for the mainline selection process and recently received the letter telling me that i can update in 6 months and then ask for a review of my application in a year.
realistically, am i done for QF or perhaps even the entire QANTAS group? have others had this setback and been offered another chance to do the psychometric evaluation again? i think that is where i went downhill, although with the QF policy of nil feedback, who knows. i am not pissed off, perhaps a little disappointed that's all, but am looking for others who have received the same letter and either moved on or had another chance at QF. thanks

M

Plenty of others have done it.

Mate of mine was working for Impulse and stuffed his interview, got a second run at it and is now FO.

I stuffed the interview years ago. Subsequent re-applications were rejected over the next 2 years so I left it. Subsequently got an interview for Eastern although I stuffed the Sim on that one

Mate of mine now tells me that a 6-month cooling off period now applies so I should re-apply again.

I did and the response has been positive.

Go for it.

I had a crack at it 3 years ago, and recieved the same letter. 2 years later got interview and sim for Eastern. I shortly have another crack at mainline psych... But who knows how thats gonna go....!!

Does anyone know what the latest recruitment forecast is for QF mainline. Where they stand now and there forecast requirments?

I didn't pass the psych test with mainline so i didn't progress further. Put a application in for qlink, got the interview. told them about the mainline psych test and was told I didn't have to re-do it as they would use those results. I told them I didn't make it and was told not to worry they are looking for different things ???.. Did the interview, sim ride and got the job. Not sure why I didn't progress further with the mainline interview, I dont think I 'stuffed it' but hey I wasn't competative enough for them but breezed into qlink. Maybe I can sell myself better in person than on a computer.

MARPOO

If a company told me to re-apply in 6 months I would interpret that as try again.

Friction Nut

Mate of mine told me 250 pilots a year for 6 years provided there is no new September 11th type event or Sars or Bird Flu.

Wow.... Either 4 a week for the next several years or 250 a year for the next several years... These are extroardinary numbers.

Surely the training department cant handle that along with keeping current crews in there cyclic program.

I heard on the grapevine that airbus recruitment has come to a standstill, and all that is happening now is 747 training to simply cover retirements. Can any one shed any truth to that?

If these figures are true... how many pilots are they putting through psych testing each week?

Enough to sustain healthy annual profits

I mate of mine told me that QF Group flight training would conduct 669 endorsements next financial year. (Excluding dash 8 training)

I dont have the figures for non mainline sales but would expect this number would be about a third.

If you considered J* a non mainline sale maybe 35% are non mainline sales.

Not all non mainline are jetstar, as there's sales on B744 & B767 etc.

Still thats around 435 endorsements in mainline for new recruits & upgrades. Not bad for a legacy carrier!
