Skydive pilot job

G'day. I am a fresh 200hr CPL with NVFR and Dangerous Goods. I am in VIctoria but willing to move anywhere. What are the opportunities of arriving to a full-time skydive pilot job? What can I do to improve my chances? Are you usually able to arrive at the end of the month with the salary? Do you think is easier to get this tipe of job or trying charter north? I would laso appreciate the name of some good operators. Thanks.

10 hours on type is required for Skydiving...

a C210 covers you for a C210, C206, C182, etc.

C206 covers you for a C206 and C182.

Why do you mention skydive flying and salary in the same post??

Go north and get a real flying job that will add merit and integrity to both your log book and resume.

Have to agree with everyone else. Head north and avoid the whole jump pilot gig if you can. Gold Coast Skydive Centre at OOL is the only fair dinkum operator I know of. Too many horror stories else where. Use and abuse seems to be the norm.

Good luck

It's a shame that skydive flying has earned itself such a tarnished reputation over the years. I did it for about 5 years after I gave up being a meatbomb.
Provided you are able to operate a well maintained aircraft and not be coerced into breaking any rules, it can be some of the most enjoyable and rewarding flying that you will do.

Now if only the skydive operators would pay pilots commensurate with their skills and experience as they do for the tandem masters, AFF instructors, parachute packers, manifest scribes, kitchen hands, cleaners, barmen etc.

Skydive City operator Luke McWilliam stated under oath at the AAT hearing two weeks ago that he was operating under Don at Skydive Nagambie.

Makes one wonder why Skydive Nagambie want to tarnish their image.

Wouldn’t be for $$$$$ would it ?????

Your choice but if you approach Nagambie the chances are you could end up in the tangled web of the one and only Luke McSkydive.

This possibility should not be concealed from you on this site or anywhere else.

Was that Skydive Nagambie or Luke McSkydive dancing with clouds at Phillip Island over Easter?
