apache, I am wondering, did you go with pinky the pilot to the indian after the worlds longest mailrun or did you just so happen to be there for a date?

I had to look at his (pinky) ugly mug at the pub in Boulia on the overnights. Does anybody have any good Boulia pub stories? I remember watching pinky the pilot staggering out the door after finishing a bottle of red followed by a few beer chasers, or was that the other way around? I dont even remember. I do recall seeing people with no teeth.

Don't know about the pub but one weekend I was there on the mailrun (In VH-AWS no less) and saturday night was the annual Boulia Dance (rythmic ceremonial mating ritual).
It was quite an eye opener, all the people from miles around dressed up and in search of a mate.

Mango, I can assure you that it was NOT a date with Pinky. I think that we were there prior to the mailrun, as we had flown up from adl on the friday night and stayed at the standpipe (I thin k that was the name of the motel)... before heading off on the run first thing Saturday morning.

I have since learned never to eat curry before a 12 hour day in an a/c without toilets.

Boulia pub..... hmmmm, got a few stories from there!

and even "spankies" nightclub in YPAG!

DF - I see you got my point.

O.M.G. You's South Australians are a funny mob..... Start a story about Port Agutta, PLincoln, or O'Connus, and the story always heads to the bleedin' mail run up to Boulia...... next you'll all be talkin' about TK and his lovely witch CK, and how they've just put electicity on in Adelaide, and paved a few roads, and now..... they've even got wireless..........

not to mention garlic XXXX at Boulia

Oh geez, did ya have to bring the wicked witch of the south into this

Funniest moment while I was working there was the night TK was installing some new laminate in the PAG office, the witch bumped him and he ended up with his head stuck to the counter.

I'm thinking of retiring to Boulia

Now look here Mango! You know I never drink beer so there were no 'beer chasers.'

And the reason you don't remember is probably that you used to help me finish the bottle of red!!

And I never stagger!! Might not be able to hold a steady heading though.

I had to look at his (pinky) ugly mug
You're no oil painting y'self!!

ah yes T&CK, ya gotta love those two! Actually found TK to be rather 'henpecked' ! Haven't had anything to do with that Co for yonks. CK was one hell of a gal. I worked for them only a few weeks oh a while ago now due to circumstances that required another PA31 & driver after one of theirs 'greased it on' at Roxby wheeless! & after about 5 weeks flying promptly went into TK's office at AD & said I quit & I'm taking my plane home with me, wasn't mine but the owner backed me up anyway beforehand! He said why? & after I stopped gagging on the smoke haze in his office despite the regs saying no smoking I said there's 250 reasons why I no longer want to stay here, he said what? As I walked out I mentioned the reasons come attached to someones weight !

Still met some nice guys there whilst driving back & forth to Roxby & the gutta
