Air New Zealand
Hey folks. I hope I'm posting this in the right forum. I'm interested in knownig if Air New Zealand will hire American pilots and if so, how to go about applying. I did conduct a search but the search words are far too common. Thanks,
Ryan

Hi Ryan,
The short answer is yes they will, if you have the right to live and work in New Zealand.
There are a very small number already here flying, some in training schools, and simulators.

Like others have said it is certainly possible but like the others have said you must meet the mins plus have citizenship or permanent residency in NZ or Aus, a long process in itself.
Just curious, what drives your question.?

Hey, anyone willing to spill some general info regarding T & C down there. Got a rough idea of pay but what about things like pension, flight pay, overtime, roster patterns and days off? Any info would be greatly appreciated, pm's welcome.

Not hiring
Quite possibly true. I understand that many Freedom Air guys are no longer required with their A320s absorbed into mainline. Being offered S/O positions and leave without pay etc...
A mate in Singapore tells me they've even had Freedom guys applying there.
When I heard that they were combining the seniority lists of Freedom & Air NZ that some Air NZ guys I know said they weren't considered "real" Air NZ crew (ie Couldn't make it into mainline, paid for ratings, etc).
Maybe those attitudes are showing through now?
