Tee Emm......Your a dreamer!!!!!
Having written up many of the aircraft in the fleet because of snags during my time there I can assure you that the maint is well above board.
You clearly have no idea.........its up to you as the pic the fly the aircraft, if it is not safe and you fly it your the clown
I can assure you there was never any pressure to fly substanded aircraft.
You should set your own standards.............

Sorry Chadzat, changed my earlier post to refer to Darwin.

One Dollar Short. I have worked there recently. Maybe it's you who
dont know F all...
If you dont like that place- leave no need to slag people off.
I was one of the ones who left. I'll slag off these idiots if I feel they deserve it, thanks very much!

I don't understand how you guys defend operators like this? Comments like "GA is GA, and just put up with it".

Maybe it's you guys who need to grow up! I've worked in other industries and not one of them treated people like "Mal" have, and no-one in those industries would put up with it and come back for more!

MAYBE Ausjet Darwin was better in the past before the W family took over; some of my mates said it was. Right now though, steer clear!

P.S. Agree with Tipan13: Never had problems with writing up a/c.

So Fairbairn, as far as you know it's pretty good so long as you aren't Darwin based?

Alice crew

Guys lots of anger again i work for ausjet in Alice and we have a good crew and nice aircraft. The senior base here doesnt push you to do anything illegal, he can be a hard man to work for but aslong as you bring your A game then there will be no issues.
Yes there are only 2 fulltime drivers and the rest are casual but that works out to be the same as a full time driver over the year. PM me if you want more info
Cheers Guys

What sort of work would you be expecting to do (other than standard ad-hoc charter)?

Reviving an old thread, rather than starting a new one.

What's the 2012 situation with this company in Alice Springs? Not much information going around. Is all recruitment done at head office in Melbourne? Do they take low hour guys? I read somewhere they don't take kindly to guys dropping by in Alice, any truth to this?

Cheers,

All the recruitment goes through Melbourne. A new cheif pilot started earlier in the year (well known around Essendon).

I'm not quite sure what is going on in Alice.

They fly Pollies around as well as various other Govt contracts so if they where in anyway unscrupulous then am sure someone would have had some Govt influence over them to do it right.
You'd have to be joking?

The Government would NEVER allow any other body to be unscrupulous, they hate competition.

One brush?

Most of the "chaps" that worked there were good. The one that ran it into the ground wasn't and still isn't.

Fair enough, sorry. That was the bloke I meant.
No disrespect meant to the many hardworking and decent people who worked for Stategic.

.............ahhh good 'ole Aussie Jet, had some fun times there back in the 90's flying Pollies around & target towing for shooting practice, hmmmmmm could have killed two birds with one stone there the gunners would have had much better aim had they known there where Pollies on board Jeff Kennett, oh boy now that's a whole other story!:-)
General charter, DSE work (or whatever they where called way back then), target towing, Polly flying & around Oz trips, yep they where the fun days
Plenty of pilots got their start in the bigger stuff from that joint, hope their still pumpin' them out.

If you are looking for a job in their northern outposts is it worth ringing or popping in to their Melbourne office if recruiting is done down there or is it better to swing by the local office on your way up North?

East Coast only

Aust jet Alice Springs changed hands last year but the new owner was still using the Aust jet AOC up until recently. Aust jet are now only MEL and MKY with one King Air in Brissy.

The Alice operation is now called NTAS. I don't think they are making much money. Still knock on the door if you want.

Is Mackay an option for a new guy? I know they have a few C200 series aircraft up there but Mackay is rarely mentioned as part of the pilgrimage hot spots.

Wow!! Quite a few posts having a shot at employee's of this company and getting very personal, yet the thread survives. Good thing this wasn't a Skytrans thread as it would have been locked ages ago!
