Psychometric testing isnt something you can practise for.

Just look at every question, and before you answer, say to yourself, "How would an airline pilot answer this?"

I had to do some tests (IQ and psychometric) a few years ago and found some roughly similar ones online.

You can't become perfect my practicing, but I did find it useful to have a single practice run through to get the feel for them, and for the IQ ones to go back and see what I got wrong.

Also remember to do them when you are at your best and without any annoying distractions.

Best of luck

So windytown:

your saying you've gotta get divorced before you can do the test??

"Annoying distraction" would have to be one of the more colourful (but by no means incorrect!) descriptions regarding marriage.

Hi Galdian

Actually I was thinking about children. I guess divorce could also solve that noise. One of my mates careers really took off after his divorce.

Wife V Career

Great comment windy! With an attitude like that V Oz will be a great place to work. Still, if you can't get laid at home then at least you won't mind getting screwed at work.

Just look at every question, and before you answer, say to yourself, "How would an airline pilot answer this?"
This is where so many go wrong......

Unfortunately, these tests are designed so that if you give the answer you THINK THEY WANT rather than what you really think, then later on in the test you will end up contradicting yourself.

The same question is usually asked a few times throughout the test, however it may be worded in a slightly different way. So when you start giving anything but honest answers, it will show up in your test results.

My advice for the psychometric tests is to just be as honest as possible. From memory, they usually give you a scenario with 4 or so responses, and ask you to state which answer is most like you and which is least like you. With some, you will look at the answers and go, 'none of these are anything like me', but you still have to choose.

True, you cant really practice for these tests...but you can always have a look at some sample questions and see what sort of things they ask. Try the QF website.....im pretty sure there used to be some examples of the formats and types of questions they ask, so i cant imagine V would be much different.

Best of luck with your testing.
