One heck of a way to get cheap flying instruction from a well recognised organisation.

further to Keg's bit:
aafc is excellent - it's been a t'riffic experience for my eldest son and its a great start to an aviation career.

PS: For Melbourne people - don't forget the Air Pagent at Point Cook 24/2/08 - a chance to see some wonderful old a/c do their stuff in the skies.

Sure do Aussie. Got home from an eight day trip yesterday, been at it all day today, on again tomorrow. My wife is impressed with my dedication and wants to know when I'll show such dedication to my family. I've told her that it'll be in three years time when my oldest joins the AAFC! (If she wants to of course...no compulsion in this household! )

If ATC doesnt suit, Scouts NSW offers similar facilities at Camden NSW for Scouts, Guides, other Youth Groups and Leaders to learn to fly.

Just to add...
Although it's a big part, we are not all about flying. We also do shooting and bushcraft aswell. This year, our unit is holding shooting, bushcraft and flying camps. I'm doing the Tongariro Crossing with my unit next month.

This is a place to meet new people and make new friends whether it be at parade nights or the many national courses you can attend!

I like the 'new' colour scheme on the Scout aircraft- they've probably had it for a bunch of years now! Great memories of my nav training in Weary across to SA and back and then a later trip across Bass Strait in Snoopy.

I couldn't get the photo gallery to work. Is that just me and firefox?

Keg is hardcorp AAFC

But seriously it is good fun and worthwhile, particularly if you are interested in the ADF generally. The ADF is looking at ADFC (Australian Defence Force Cadets) service favourably these days when recruiting.

Not to mention we get the occasional oppurtunity to do some pretty cool stuff.

And Keg is a pretty good boss
