And some of the airlines seem to say that only one in a hundred are good enough?? If that is the case there is something wrong with their advertising, or their selection and training process. I think they got that attitude from the air force.
Not so. In the decades this writer has been in the flying game, there has been a practically bottomless pit of pilots in Australia available to the airlines and RAAF. For that reason they can be choosy and wouldn't you be too? The pool has thinned out a bit now but still no significant shortage of candidates.
