Northam Collision?

Was it VH-TLL (Aerostar 601P?) versus VH-CEG? (a Cessna 182?)
Only caught a fleeting glimpse of the rego's on the SBS news coverage this evening.
I think I caught that the twin lost it on the landing roll-out and reamed the singledy.

Looks like VH-CFG (C172R) V the old Aerostar that’s been parked up at NTM for years, the C172 came off second best!

Been sitting there for over a month now. Maybe the insurance company is just waiting for an offer for the wreck?

I reckon Roger would have made an offer before the dust settled.
So Simmo's old aerostar was good for something finally. a brake for a 182. it was os far behind on the AD's that it would never have flown again... or was it the other one that haunts the same airfield?.

wow that looks messy, but seeing as I am looking for a C172 or PA28 that might work with some panel beating !, one wonders how one can secure such a slightly scratched plane cheaply? Idea's?

Cessna Vs Piper.

Wally,
I think you will find the engine, instruments and avionics on CFG were all fairly low time so will probably have a good resale value.

hey 'YPJT' i'm currently running a thread with almost those exact words "Cessna Vs Piper" although not quite the same but the C172 part is!
Nasty nose there, much drag I'd say.

I think I recall many years ago (late 70's) TLL being owned by a doctor at YMEN, just the rego looks famil, anyone know of it's history since new?

I was amazed how far it was off the edge of the rwy. Pilot of 172 was certainly dertermined. To do what remains the unanswered question.

VH-TLL was used by jetcraft on a freight run between Mackay and Mt Isa for years. About 11,000 hours on the airframe and freight interior.

I think CFG is cursed. I was a passenger on a return flight from Avalon in March 2003 and we struck an eagle just south of York. Damaged the cowling and left leading edge. Managed to land safely but I might suggest staying away from that one.

MLL used to belong to Dr. Tom Long, who from memory (going back about 19 years now!) was an orthopaedic surgeon.

Poor old TLL. I went for a ride to Brisbane as a Pax in her many years ago, when Jetcraft had it here as an unpressurized freighter for a couple of weeks when one of the barons was U/S. The thing I remembered the most was how it used up ALL the runway at YTWB enroute to YBBN
