Flying in UK on Aussie CPL

I am heading over to the UK in a fews weeks and thinking about doing abit of private flying over there. Just wondering if anyone can give some advise on whether this is possible on an aussie license? Are the licenses reciprical? Do you need some form of cover leter from the CAA over there? Any advise would be much appreciated.

Went over there for a couple of years, came back last year.
I didn't have to do anything special, just turned up with license and logbook and do a club check flight. Basically a club review to make sure you are safe and off you go!.

It is quite expensive though.

I called in to the West London Flying Club at White Waltham last February and they let me take a quite new C182 for a fly with only a very brief check ride. It seems that for private operations, remaining within UK airspace, there is no need for a license validation as would be required by CASA. No need for an ASIC or similar either. I think the cost was £185.00 per hour.
