To be able to visit home more often, and spend important events of the year with family and friends... 
To drink more beer and eat less healthy...oh wait.. crap.. I got that the .. yes.. the right way round
To remember all past fond memories, and make way for exciting new ones..
To hear the Aussie aviation industry bosses of various companies pull their fingers out of their
asses and help improve conditions, thereby retaining pilots...so as to stop whingeing of 'our pilots are being poached by the majors/other airlines'...
Wake up and smell the roses
...I'm sure there are many, many more

On a more serious note a good mate put a gun to his head on the evening of the 25th and made an irreversable decision...so besides giving up smoking (again) I think I might just redouble my efforts to stay in touch with close mates and ask how they are going from time to time.

I've just been given an initial clearance after 6 months of treatment for smoking-induced cancer.
I can tell you absolutely, loud and clear, and without any doubt whatsoever, that cancer AND its treatment is NOT, repeat NOT, fun, and I'm bloody pleased that I'm now through the hardest part of it.
I quit smoking the moment that my doctor issued the initial 'verdict'. And my New Year resolution is to continue to remain a non-smoker so that I CAN stay in touch with my mates for a few years longer than I otherwise would have been able too!

...to burn more fossil fuel in the never ending search for the perfect aerobatic manuvre (preferably in front of the judges!!!)...I'm sure a 10 is pure legend!!
