To all PPruners, sorry about the picture above being removed.... someone stole my cheap seat...... must have been some beggar worrying about quick progression to make ones self feel better.

I'd like to say that some of the better pilots I know from GA then regionals have gone down the J* path..... why?? they have their reasons... as I have mine by never even opening their filthy website. Life is all about enjoying your job and getting a fair days pay...... Well for the J* lot I hope you enjoy the flying. I hope for the entire industry that you guys (girls) stick together and gat at LEAST Virgin pay or better at your next EBA because any less and you are doing wrong by the industry. I believe you are worth far more than you are paid and as much as I am happy for my mates getting Jet jobs, it pains me as to why they accept less.

Little comparison of similar aircraft

QF S/O A330 after checked to line gets about $90k leading to $120k within 12/18 months…………..paid nil for training

J* S/O A330....... sorry Cruise F/O A330 (same job different name) gets $54k leading to $85K on completion of REAL F/O upgrade to A320 in (promised) 6 months to a year...

QF S/O works really hard logging as much Latte time sunning ones @ss on Bondi Beach whilst J* lad is docked $10k for the next 3 years because the company was nice enough not to make you pay upfront...... and when times get tough can spend their precious time away as time off..

You deserve better conditions. You are a professional highly skilled group of pilots and YOU owe yourselves and the industry (and the GA pilots too) nothing short of VB T&Cs next EBA minimum.

luck of the draw sometimes

hmmm, well maybe not everyone can get into qf. not saying i agree with the conditions but i can't say that the fellas i know at jetstar are any different to the ones i know in qf. some got thru some didn't - not better pilots or smarter. those that missed out got on with it and applied elsewhere. noone in this forum would expect them to sit in ga forever because they missed out on qantas. luck of the draw sometimes. i think its important to walk a mile in someones shoes first and to not forget that we all started out the same and just wanted to make a descent living at the end of the day...

its a bit easier to take the moral high ground when you are on the high ground.

Angel

titan, now that's just not nice!

cantstandya throws out a completely unsubstantiated post that actually does libel QF pilots (mistake #1), labels them all as F*^kwits (mistake #2). He gets 'called' on it and his only response actually directed towards the discussion at hand is to ask how I and my colleagues like our careers. This was obviously in the mistaken belief that we're still in the back seat with a long way to go to upgrade (mistake #3).

If the potty mouthed one can't handle being shown to be a dill due to pressing 'submit reply' before thinking, then perhaps he shouldn't be clicking on the 'submit reply' button to start off with.

aulglarse....I've previously articulated a 'give and take' plan on these forums. The J* drivers need to understand that most QF drivers aren't interested in taking slots off them, all we're after is 'access' to slots as seniority comes up. We've offered this in return also. Personally I'd never go because I couldn't afford it (or more rightly, my wife couldn't afford it). If we worked together on this it'd be so much easier. Unfortunately, the dills out there with the chips on their shoulders (on both sides) make it difficult to achieve.

Jet* out to save the world! Maybe but in the meantime,

When will you guys at the Star realise that you've been had in a big way by Qantas?

When will you understand that by slagging off at QF drivers and the pay they enjoy, all you are doing is simply demonstrating how distasteful jealousy really is.

Do you guys honestly think that the pilots at QF believe that you dont aspire to the same?

Fellas when you grow up and get married with a couple of sprogs and a mortgage then you can tell us all how happy you really are working for Jet*.

You will learn that, "V1 Rotate..... geez look at me mum" just doesn't pay the bills!

Now if we can all unite and begin singing to the same tune we might just get somewhere.

Here's to hoping.

Talking

It may in Perth but it doesn't go too far in Sydney....particularly if you've forked out $30K for the endorsement and been earning J* F/O wages for the last few years!

Dragonair pilots have fought a hard industrial battle for the last two years. The union committee had a good deal of Australian pilots involved. Sometimes treading on egg shells with little industrial protections. Other times firm in a number ways.

Anyways. The story completes with a 20% plus improvement on the package offered this week.

Unity! And if guys walk, burn the bridges!

The sweetest thing of all. Not the money, not the minor improvements of lifestyle. But the moving forward professionally with your mates.

Harden up J*.
