UK ATPL working in Aus..? Any chances?

Hey all.

Got 3200hrs, 1400hrs heavy turb prop (50t), 1000hrscommand time, A320 family 400hrs.
Live in UK got all tickets & medicals etc for UK & EU.
Just wondering on the score of flying in Australia.
Qantas, Jet Star, Virgin Blue... any of these guys gonna look @ me?
Work for great company with ace flying, which has been bought by BMi & am uncertain about future flying & life style. I guess working comes after living but for a big change its all a worry to get sorted before I do anything hasty.
Without Aussie passport, birth cert. or residency do I have a single chance or am I dreaming. I don't fancy the Qantas SO for yrs after already holding reasonable experince... (I feel?)
All thoughts gratfully recieved.
Cheers

Yep in a word your buggered!
Each Govn'mnt have made it almost impossible to work in the opposing country without the obligatory p'prt/work visa.
If you are <25 Y.O then you may be entitled to a youth exchange Visa but from your details that will not apply.
If you can get sponsorship "No worries", but I cannot think of one person who has succeeded in securing said sponsorship.
If your cheese & Kisses is a worker in the health industry then she may get sponsorship and try that avenue.
Good Luck

No not coastwatch... I just got an email from them that they weren't recruiting foreign pilots at this time FWIW. I'm a foreign ATPL holder with Australian CPL + IR etc. Can't be too hard up for pilots.
