Casual jobs avaliable at Bankstown Airport?

Hi all

This enquiry might be a little odd from all the others, so please forgive me!

I'm a uni student residing in Wagga, but originally from Sydney and frequently return home during my uni holidays. I'm aspiring to continue getting a PPL during all my holidays, and my upcoming Summer break is for three months duration beginning in December.

On the side, I'm looking for some casual work during the break and although I'm happy with anything that pays, I thought to looking towards Bankstown Airport to see if any form of casual jobs exist at Bankstown Airport with the many air operators and/or services out there, even odd jobs that allow me to work on aircraft (Like cleaning/washing them) and give me some experience in how General Aviation operates, mainly as an aid to my efforts towards a PPL.

I'm not making Aviation a career and don't intend on flying to earn a crust, but will always greatly enjoy planes and aviation as a recreation.

Just for the serious ones who might, or know someone who have something to offer, I have a few years of experience in Tourism and Hospitality, in many jobs such as a Kitchen Hand (2 years), Tour Guide (5 years), Website Administrator (2 years) and happy to send my resume to anyone interested.

Thanks fellas!

Hi VH-MVL.

I think the best thing is to go to bankstown and go door knocking with C.V in hand. I belive there is work out there if you look, try the pilotshop and there was an advert for awhile ago from the mob theat operate the DC3.

Failling that how casual you what work?? There are usually jobs going at Sydney. (Check in, baggage handlers etc)

Hope that points you in right direction.

TOJP.

Go wash aircraft at a flight training school. You'll literally be the highest paid person in the company bar the people who own it.

(no i'm not kidding)

Yep, go door knocking and see what you come up with. Cleaning, refueling, maintenance etc...

By the way what are you doing at uni? Just curious to know.

Hi fellas

Thanks for the advice... which confirms my suspicion that washing aircraft would be what's on offer out there.

For mr.tos, I'm studying Media and TV Production out of CSU in Wagga.

Any other advice/suggestions/offers would be greatly appreciated!
Cheers
