Does Ozjet own those White-tailed 146's
I remember seeing a while ago, Ozjet had brought the ex fleet of Ansett / NZ BAe 146-200/300 comb.
I know that Ansett Administrators dont have any 146's to sell/lease any more, wondered if anyone could confirm Ozjet has these?
Heard also the rumour of another 4 x B732 coming into a town near you soon?
Regards

Last time I enquired you will pick up a BAe-146 for US$400,000 month lease fee.
Well let's hope his hairdryers keep working. Ansett was driven broke by unscheduled removals on those. When Air NZ operated them the APUs kept packing up aswell.
I give him 2 years at max. Well there is method for running KJ out of business but i wont tip him off until it's too late. If he's such a genius then he can find out the hard way how to lose the shirt off his back and those of his investors.
The vultures are already begining to circle over this character.

New Zealand start-up KiwiJet chooses Avro RJ100s
New Zealand start-up Kiwijet has announced that it intends to lease four Avro RJ100s from BAE Systems for low-fare operations. Formed in May, Kiwijet initially planned to operate 140-seat Boeing 737-300s, closely following the Southwest Airlines model.
When this proved too ambitious, the airline switched its plans to the much smaller 50-seat Embraer ERJ 145. However, the ERJ 145 proved too small for the planned services. Moreover, the airline were unable to secure examples of the LR model, which they would need to operate into regional airports in New Zealand.
They have thus now turned their attention to the RJ100, which would give them both the size and the capability they are looking for. Current plans call for an initial fleet of four aircraft to be based in Christchurch, linking Auckland, Hamilton, Invercargill, Nelson, and Palmerston North from November. No agreement has yet been reached with BAE Systems, however. [2007-09-12]

BAe 146-200 US$60,000-70,000 per mth
Avro RJ100 US$90,000-95,000 per mth
Boeing 737-300 EFIS US$130,000-US$160,000 per mth
A320 US$200,000 - 260,000 per mth
now for US$400,000 per mth you could have a A340-300 straight for the national German carrier......

Touche Skystar, my info is out of date. No dispute.
Good on Ewan Wilson. He told me earlier this year that he wouldn't touch trans Tasman work because you could walk across the Tasman from wingtip to wingtip.
Re Patrick Weil, check out his CV on this website:

I hope he keeps up firing blanks. CSR for Air Tran before they took over Valuejet. Fascinating the stuff you can read on the CV.

Sorry Skystar 320 I looked back at the Flight magazines where my comment came from about BAe-146 leasing and though I can't find the specific copy the pile of mags were embarrisingly old editions.
The comment elsewhere about 5 tonnes of perishable freight from Invercargill is from a Report to the Promotions Committee, Southland District Council dated 2 June 2000.

No Problems – I still keep my old editions of Airliner World somewhere
I just wish lease rates were that high again means I could eventually get more $$$$ out of each aircraft. I’ll be interested to know the report about the 5tonnes of cargo do you have something laying around there?
It wuold be intresting to see if that figure is still at 5tones or even highre?

The ex NZG and NZJ are owned by EAAC (Ozjet parent) and still in storage (as far as I'm aware) from when they were ferried from Aus. Fate TBD.

OzJet to run trans-Tasman flights out of Palmerston North
7:15PM Tuesday October 30, 2007
OzJet announced in January it wanted to establish itself in NZ.
Palmerston North has attracted a replacement for departing Freedom Air international flights, with Australian airline OzJet due to begin flying the Tasman in March.
OzJet, which operates charter and regular scheduled services, will fly between Palmerston North and Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane. A regular schedule and other details have not been finalised, Palmerston North Airport manager Garry Goodman said.
OzJet operates a fleet of Boeing 737-200 aircraft, which can carry up to 110 passengers. The service out of Palmerston North would offer business and economy class.
"From our point of view, we're pleased that they're looking to keep growing the business, keep growing passenger numbers and building the service up," Mr Goodman said.
The airport had approached other Australian airlines to find a replacement for Air New Zealand's budget carrier Freedom Air, which stops flying from Palmerston North at the end of March citing a lack of demand. The move was part of Air NZ's revamp of its Tasman and Pacific Island services.
"We have confidence that the numbers are there - what I can't answer is whether an airline can do it profitably or not, that's over to each airline," Mr Goodman said.
There are 750,000 central North Island residents in the Palmerston North Airport catchment.
"I think for the last few years we have not really been capturing the share of the market that we should be able to, and that's a matter for the airline and us sharing similar views about what that opportunity is," Mr Goodman said.
"In the first instance I'm very keen to see growth on the trans-Tasman, but I think there's also opportunities in other sectors for doing much more innovative things."
Revenue from the airline would not be "dissimilar" to fees earned from Freedom Air.
The deal was subject to regulatory approvals.
OzJet, set up by Australian businessman Paul Stoddart, initially offered scheduled all-business class flights between Sydney and Melbourne but discontinued those in 2006 after only three months.
OzJet has since turned its focus to charter flights and also flies from Perth to the northern Australian settlement of Derby and to Bali, and from Norfolk Island to Brisbane, Melbourne, Newcastle and Sydney.
"We've looked at their credentials and we're comfortable with what they're doing in Australia, and what their track record and experience is," Mr Goodman said.

I have heard the 146 is Paul Stoddard's favourite aircraft.
I believe at one stage he had stitched up an in-principle deal with the two Marks to buy the lot, and he was contemplating flying them between two rather well-known secondary airports in Aus... until someone explained the impact of runway factoring and runway length limitations.
