Sydney based instrument rating training

The son of a colleague of mine is transferring to Sydney for a year and is seeking to complete an instrument rating during that time.

He is not looking for commercial training - he is a PPL holder and is looking to add either an CIR or PIFR.

Can you please share your thoughts on the best training provider for this guy.

Thanks.

He'll get very good training at Whitworth.

I also recommend Whitworth. Bill is the best on the field.

While i cant speak in general for their instructors, Sydney Flight Training Centre's new Chief PIlot (Malcolm P) is a brilliant operator. Dont know the costs or anything but a great instructor and pilot

Yep, I agree, Malcolm P is one of the best ( and kind and helpful ). Although I have trained with Whitworths and Bill is also topnotch.

On renewals - I'd recommend Paul Summers from McGyver Aviation. A true gentleman.

Sorry i thought he was the chief pilot my mistake. I thought it was only a very recent thing

I didnt think Paul S was going anywhere. Wouldnt blame him though. They dont do alot these days and the owner of the company doesnt seem to be very interested. Could be wrong again
