What's Eagle up to now?

Heard a rumor that Eagle is introducing some human factors CRM type course for new hires, at the candidate's expense..? Anyone else know anything? Makes the job sound so much more attractive...

When will you guys ever listen?

They will be taking a majority of their newbies straight off CTC..not all..but the majority.

P.S. Don't shoot the messenger

Are you serious ??
How much are they planning on charging for this crm course, and what do you get out of it Vs the anz crm course, just curious. We havent even done a crm course yet... Think that it may be in the pipeline tho.

Someone must be taking the p*ss surely. Aren't they already having trouble attracting pilots? The stupid bond will have already scared off most of the pilots they should be hiring.....and if this is true....the avalible pool shrinks further.

Can't be long now before the only guys bothering to send in an application are fresh coms (CTC perhaps?)

Think I might crack another beer, sit back in my comfy chair, and watch this one. Could be the best entertainment I've had in a while.

hey, while they're at it, why not lower their minimums and charge a $15 application fee......gotta be a few bucks in that, right?

Hmmmm

I wondered when the next Eagle thread was going to start.

Must have been at least three lots of interviews without any Eagle bashing, it been a bit quiet on that front lately.

its because they are being very nice nowadays when they are telling you to piss off. (speaking from experience)

If you really kick up a stink about your interview..they sometimes even give you another shot

Things have changed

Craka.... Its a bond - you dont stump up 30k to get in. You pay if you choose to break the conditions of your bond - That shifts in the ball into your court.

Haughtney1's probably not far off the mark.
Ive heard mutterings of this too..... If CTC's programme can put the pom's straight on jets no reason why the same programme cant put the NZ guys they train onto props.
I would put money on it happening by the decades end but the problem will probably lie with a lack of training resources as these are tied up enough as it is, let alone having to get a fresh cpl online.

15k ??

If it's going to cost 15k for a CRM course.....then can anyone tell me how a CRM would cost 15k???

Especially if say 10 people were doing it together... $150,000 thank you very much!

How many days to do a CRM course? 2? 5? Jeez, would such a CRM course involve in situ training in an Air NZ sim? You could get 1/2 an endorsment for that!

The company have thier own CRM course. It is two days long and is anticipated newbies will go through it once employed (Ie not pay 15k themselves wherever that figure came from???).
A few of the existing pilots have gone through it but the crew numbers
are too tight at present to pull more off line to complete it.
Watch this space for cadets. I dare say there will at least be a trial, cant wait to hear the bitching from those who feel they were owed the job

Advertisements in the waikato times sits vacant today for the APC and CPP Courses which states the chance of Employment Placement with a Regional Airline if you are successful in being accepted for training with CTC. APC wise if you hold the right Licences and IR you could be flying RHS in 10 weeks. 18 months for CPP.

Really?

Instructors being passed over for jobs? That's going to upset the apple cart. As if there aren't enough bitter instructors out there already.

CTC had better start issuing their instructors with crayons. An angry instructor with a sharpened pencil could be a force to reckon with

yeah took a while for another eagle bashing thread to start!
just waiting for someone to have a moan about the '4 day interview', which is crap mine was over in a day and a half.

have not heard about this ctc scheme but I would say there are plently of people out there with the hours without having to resort to that.

interviewees have 1000 and 300 multi from what i heard

empacher48,

I would the think the CV pile would be plenty big enough. What other options are there in NZ??? Pay out circa 10K for a Metro or Jetstream rating? Cook and Airfreight wont take you out of GA, And to have a shot with Nelsons requirements will mean spending even longer flying around in some crusty old light twin for what significant benifit? (dont forget that will have to be NZ I/F time too )

Makes a 3 day interview seem pretty painless to me
