What's Eagle up to now?

I do realise there are quite a few out there that are looking for that step up into the airlines. But I am a bit cynical, as one day I'll be looking at moving on up into the airlines and as you say the options in NZ are slim, and you need to do what you need to do to get the jobs.
I was after an idea of the experience of the guys moving in now, just to see how many more years I'll be flying down here before I get my chance. (I'm starting to get some Pilot in Command time, in a Multi Turbine machine a tad smaller than the 1900, but its all VFR). By the sounds of the guys with 300 hours multi, I'll be here for a few more years yet, just long enough to get some savings under me before I take the job and the pay cut to move into Eagle (as you say, you do what you need to do!).

The guys getting into eagle seem to have 1000tt with 200multi, some with a fair bit more total (nearer 2k) and around 150multi. I guess your flying next to a lake of sorts, If its the one further South I guess it will be difficult but try keep I/F current - Im told alot of the people in the CV pile are not.

Thanks for the advice there Muttly's Pigeon; You are right I am near a lake and will work on getting and keeping current IFR but once I'm completely at home in the old girls down here!
As has been mentioned, there is always REX or Qantaslink over the ditch, but I know what aussies think of the multi I'm flying now! (I think most of them feel that sums them up, but they are an amazing and great fun machine to fly!)

Interview flight gone?
heard yesterday that the flight in the Beech during the interview process may have been dropped. apparently may have been to do with Eagle's 141 cert (ground training only maybe?)
Anyone hear the same?
Also saw a company newsletter that said 41 pilots had been turned over in the past 12mths, 25 of those since April. That the wheels up may have helped relieve the pressure of crewing shifts and that the pressure will come on when it returns to service and also the intro of the 18th Beech, so recruiting will continue in the mean time I'd guess.
From my personal experience I had a great time at eagle and can recommend it as a first regional job. Good luck to those in and those trying to get in.

burty, I am pretty sure they used to charge for the B1900 rating but dont think they do anymore. Havnt heard of any bonds either. Alot of the guys seem to start on the 406 then move across. The boys and girls there always seem happy but like everyone else they seem to be bleeding pilots at the moment with several of the near 20 either going or about to go.
