Instructor shortage in Perth?
I know there is an instructor shortage all over the country at the moment but I keep on noticing W.A flight training schools are looking for instructors and try to entice new ones with saying you can pay for your instructor rating by working for them over a certain length of service?
My question is what are the best flying schools to work for in W.A?
Are they generally receptive of hearing from anyone who lives and did their CPL training on the eastern side of Australia or do they prefer to only hire people who have done their training in W.A?

Tintin25,
On the AFAP site today, I noticed SFC advertising to conduct your CPL and Instructor rating for an unannounced ROS. I reckon they would not discriminate between West and East.
The RACWA recently advertised renewing expired IRs. I don't know at what expense, but by the time organisations go down this road, I don't think they would be overly biased towards the West trained Instructors. JMHO

Why would there be a preference? If you can fly east, you can fly west, south, north, up, down.... and vice versa
Only would take 1 or 2 flights to be familiar with local procedures and features...

Well some GA operators may not be biased but I have heard some operators say not to bother applying to work for them unless you did all your training with them. Maybe things are changing with the instructor shortage the pilot has the upper hand!

There is a huge instructor shortage in the whole industry at the moment. I dont think most companies care where you did your training and will be happy to employ you no matter what your experience. If you have an instructor rating at the moment you can find a job easily at jandakot.
