First Job In A Capital City - Is it possible?

Is it still a completely ridiculous expectation to find a first flying job in a capital city airport such as Bankstown without going down the instructor path?

I have no problem doing my time, but taking my family to go bush is not practical and also wouldn't be fair on them.

Going by the amount of flying jobs advertised of late there must be some movement in the industry, but I guess the question is whether it is enough to compel the capital city charter/freight operators to lower their mimimums?

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Meatbombing/scenics

Lot's of meatbombers lurk around capital cities - it's where their customer base is! Some scenic operators too (although they tend to be flying schools as well).

Neither option pays much though......

Some small charter companies may be able to offer survey-type work which is a good hour-builder. Tends to be word-of-mouth kind of stuff so ask around. I'm not sure about the Sydney area but there is a fair amount happenning 'round Adelaide.

If you're after something more regular/reliable though, meat-bombing is a good path to take (as already stated).
