Important thing to remember about this issue is that the aircraft was not 'operated' by Aerotropics but was being operated FOR Aerotropics by Transair. All that Aerotropics did was sell seats on it they had no operational involvement and didn't crew the Metro. Transair are no longer around, Aerotropics are.

Puff,

The important thing to remember about this is the aircraft was painted in HC's colours,
Logo and phone number painted on it, had HC's flight number (HC675),
was handled and dispatched by HC at all ports, and tickets were just sold by HC.

HC was not selling tickets on a Transair flight for or on behalf of Transair. It was selling tickets on HC675, what was effectively its own service.

Effectively, HC had operational control of an aircraft and crew wet leased on a permanent basis, and a duty of care to ensure that standards were in place and achieved.

These matters will ultimately be tested.

Captain Starlight,

Whilst i don't mind a challenge myself, what you've suggested is a rather long bow to draw.

Did Aerotropics have SA227 on their AOC, no.

Somewhat like trying to blame your travel agent for your catching AIDS in Phuket Thailand whilst on a football end of year trip.

There was only two people ( ultimately one, PIC ) that caused that aircraft to be 50 knots high and 1000ft low whilst on approach in IMC.

So why don't you call
These matters will ultimately be tested
, what it really is, gold digging, following the dollar.

Pilots estates, no money
Transair, does no longer exist / no money
Aircraft manufacturer, not their fault
CASA, too many lawyers
Aerotropics, they've got money, lets have a go at them, shameful stuff.

Whilst i feel the families of the deceased deserve answers and to see any directly responsible persons in prison, the rest I feel is shameful opportunism.
