What an idiot...

Was just surfin around and came across this CSWAFC film footage. Couldnt believe what I was seeing.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=By0g07fUzVk

Interesting, given a VFR, non-spin approved aicraft with student pilot driving.
CASA should hunt this down and prosecute him. And if not already done, the airline/college should make an example of him

The student in the film was indeed made an example of and returned to China without a CPL/ATPL. Students at the college are not allowed to take any sort of camera up on solo, and yeah the grobs are not certified to do spins without the wheel spats in place.

Definatley not a CAP, they have sticks not Control Colums and apparently-

the grobs are not certified to do spins without the wheel spats in place.
So, like I said, videoing than putting it on the web was not the best career move.

K3nnyboy when I was an instructor I sometimes got students who were up to it to fly a circuit without touching the control column.

Was a good exercise in secondary effects of controls and broke up the boredom of the circuit.

From the video you can't tell whether the wheel spats were fitted or not, nor can you tell whether the pilot was endorsed or not, nor can you tell whether he was solo or not. Not much to prosecute him with...

Crickey!

Sounds to me like those negative responses come from a group of over asumptive racist cheese dicks that think spinning is a foolish pursuit.

Obviously the lack of spats (if that's the case) wasn't detrimental.

Personaly I'd be happy to fly with a guy or girl that is comfortable in a spin.

look mum no hands

It just looks like another typical hero video put up by someone who obviously needs to gain 'respect' for their 'superior' flying skills ...

If the rumour is true re non certified spin a/c .. he should be stripped of all flying privelages forthwith.

People like that are best put on a motorbike & let loose on an unpopulated windy road .. let them come to their own peril ..

He did a good job of that spin while holding the camra. But yes he was sent back to china so action was taken against him. It is rear to see some 1 that is that confident about spinning and specially that he filmed it, Good effort but a stupid one on his behalf.

There is no way he could have videod himself so he wasn't flying solo. He recovered from the spin OK and the instructor sitting beside him didn't have to drop the camera. What's wrong with you guys.

I don't think he would have been made an example of and sent back to China if an instructor was sitting next to him...

So an instructor teaches the guy to land without a control coloumn........

does't mean the instrcutor isn't there to use his just in case. Great exercise in my opinion
