Jets and Wollongong

Their I was yesterday afternoon enjoying a fine day indoors (outside was not so fine) and I was disturbed by a perculiar sound approaching Wollongong Airport. Having a butchers out my window I was most pleasantly suprised to see a jet of large nature turning final. Now from my angle it looked like a 707 but the engines looked more like those on a DC-8, and the black smoke confirmed it to be a more elderly and graceful aircraft. It appeared to do a missed approach and several moments came back again for another approach. Unfortunately i didnt have my camera handle but the view was quite amazing set against low cloud and drizzle. Anybody Know what aircraft it was? From what i could tell looked like a white tail on it, and didnt look like Qantas's recent addition.

It was the QF 707, VH-EBA soon to head up to Longreach, QLD where it will be displayed in the Qantas founders museum.

It was doing practice approaches at Albion Park yesterday.
