Covered before, and recently.
Try search function in toolbar underneath "Welcome, captwawa"
Choose advanced search, and enter search terms Jeppesen Electronic Chart and select Dunnunda and Godzone, include child forums.
I know at least 3 guys that gave the electronic Jepps a go. All have reverted to paper charts. And these are guys that are "into" computers and new technology.

I run both JeppView and paper Jepps.
Don't think I would like to have only JeppView. Maybe if you have a system hard wired into your G5 if would be OK. I run mine on a Motion Computing LS800 on the control yoke of the Bonanza and have been caught out a couple of times with the computer deciding to shut down at an inopportune time.
It is comforting to have the paper Jepps in the flightbag behind the seat.
Yes, you can print out most of what you want from JeppView, but it chews up a lot of paper and ink.

Bottums Up
I'll have you know Bloggs, Sir, that I ran a PC when I played with JeppView for a year. It is only since then that I've seen the Mac light.
captwawa, a colleague far more computer savy than I, and still a PC user, also gave up the Jeppview and reverted to paper versions.
My experience was mostly soured by the Airways Manual. Up to Aug '05 when I reverted to paper Jepps, one could only view one airways page at a time, could only print one page at a time (ie no printing pages x to y), and Jeppesen didn't provide an amendment list for the Airways manual, so, to keep it up to date, one had to check each page for its effective date and print one at a time, a most laborious task!

I use a mix of Jeppview and the paper revisions - paper revisions for those areas where I fly regularly (typically AUS and PBN), and Jeppview for those areas where I fly 2-3 times per year. I found using Jeppview for the regular destinations is too difficult and by doing the paper amendments it keeps you informed of any changes. I keep my Jeppview printouts of those other airfields and when I am planning to revisit them simply pull out the file and replace those charts which have been amended.
The only downside is that for places like the US/Europe you lose the enroute chart service. They provide it in the software and you can print out strip maps. Instead I have paper HI ALT revision services for those areas and then order the low charts if required. Latest from Jeppesen is that with all Pacific Basin subscriptions you will continue to receive the paper ERCs
Printing etc. Seems to work pretty well these days, I remember having continuous printing problems on earlier versions but they seem to have all the bugs fixed. Updating from the internet is the way to go, just don't attempt it through an intranet with firewall protection etc or it may not work. Allow an hour or two depending upon internet speed and Jeppview coverage.
Don't bother with the Jeppesen printer paper, I haven't found a printer that doesn't jam when trying to use it.
