Instrcuting Oz vs NZ
What's it like instructing in Oz as Junior grade 3
Is getting instructor rating in OZ is better option than NZ? in terms of building first 100 hrs and getting out of grade 3... ( 1year +@ in NZ to be B-cat I think) I heard shortage of instructors in Oz but isnt that only for ME grade 2 instructors?
Any recommended flight school for FIC in Oz thats likely to offer job(if u did well during the course) and help u to build the first 100 hrs?

Took me 3 months to get 120 hours instructing at a largish flying school in the North of the Sth Island. Once you're out of supervision you're a lot more useful. Aussie instructor min's are pretty much the same as in NZ, ie 100 hrs to get out of supervision for Grade 3, 250 hrs for a Grade 2 but 750 hrs for a Grade 1 which equals an A-Cat. Look's to be a fairer sytem to NZ.
Good luck.
Good luck.
CPL or ATPL --> Junior Gr.3
50 hrs flight training, 30 dual, 20 mutual with another trainee (or with another instructor).
12 hrs classroom training on Instructional Principles & Methods
Junior Gr.3 --> senior Gr.3:
100hrs instucting (ab-initio? PPL/CPL syllabus? Or anything? Can't remember).
No minimum period.
Senior Gr.3 --> Gr.2:
250 hrs instructing, 50 of which to be navigation (remainder from the PPL/CPL syllabus).
Min 6 months as Gr.3
At 400 hrs instructing can be approved to do flight reviews.
Gr.2 --> Gr.1
750 hrs instructing, 500 from the PPL/CPL syllabus.
One year as Gr.2.
Pass a theory of learning exam.
Can teach instructor trainees
Automatically gets Instrument Rating training approval (must hold a CIR)
At 1200 hrs can be CFI of an instructor school
At 2000 hrs total (not necessarily all instructing) can be CFI of an instrument school.
Any instructor --> Multi-instructor:
50 hrs command multi time, of which max 25 ICUS.
Disclaimer: Been quite a few years since I was involved with Oz training so my info could well have errors.
