Barwon Heads Airport Closed

Dear Barwon Heads Airport users,

Due to the use of agriculture equipment adjoining the east west runway and frequent crossing of personnel and equipment the Eastern End of the East West runway will be closed this weekend being the 19th & 20th of May 2007 to all aircraft, Geelong Aero Club Members, Barwon Heads Airport Leases, and persons not directed by Luke McWilliam.

Sorry for any inconveniences caused.

Kind Regards

Body Pilot

Body Pilot Went past that place today and the airfield was not CLOSED but the east-west lower section was crossed so a tractor could cross the runway once every three hours. Must have been a better way to organize this event than doing a stupid thing like that.

East West runway

Dear airport user

We may need to do some more ploughing in the paddocks over the weekend being the 26th and 27th May 2007,

The tractor can only fit through the double gates that are adjacent to the eastern end of the East West runway, therefore please note that the eastern end of the East West runway at Barwon Heads may be closed whilst ploughing is in progress.

I do not wish to revisit the allegations and concerns about some of the staff and tenants who have previously acted in a manner to intimidate persons crossing the runway and hampering the access of an emergency vehicle. This said; if the winds are from the east or the west, we will endeavour to keep the eastern end of the East West runway open as much as possible.

Blue skies and safe flying

Kind Regards

Body Pilot

To Body Pilot/Luke/Dork you moron.

From all accounts you did not advise the owner of the airport that you were closing the small section of the east west runway on your land because you wanted your ploughmaster to turn some dirt for you in the nothern paddock.

You always have said you want cooperation, but it is your decision and your actions that make the situation difficult, as usual, and this is just another example.

You could have got the machinery through the back gates to your property but this would have meant that you would not have had reason to interfere with the operation of the airfield which you are no longer qualified to use.

As if that was not enough you then had the ploughmaster park the tractor alongside the east west runway for the week causing it to be shut down for the week, and I don't know where to contact the driver. Maybe you should ask blondie, she would know, certainly appeared to be very friendly after alighting the tractor at the weekend but then the driver had his hands full of ???

You are an absolute moron who should not be allowed back on or near an airfield, and as for the collections of stones in the back paddock for a landing area for dirt darts, forget it you are wasting your time, it will not be allowed and if you think you have a fight now, it is nothing to what will follow.

Body Pilot/Luke/Dork can't you understand that you ae not wanted and will not be tolerated at or near BHA and the longer it goes the deeper the hole you dig for yoruself.

This STUPID man is still at it? why does he keep flogging a dead horse? can he not see the time is here to say ta ta and dance away to the Skydiver Kingdom somewhere else!!

Me thinks the runway should be closed (All of em) any time that Fairy Feet wants to land his Mates Machine on this Airfield. Why the hell should he be able to close the east end anytime for no good reason when the strip has been a right of way for over thirty years.

He sees fit to cross a tractor once every three hours to commit a disturbance to all aviation not just BH traffic GROW UP YOU DUMB Dancing Boy, hope the snake he imported a few years back is breeding if not he will have no company on his many adventures rock chasing.

AAHHH I take it back let his mate land otherwise we would be silly as him.

More Legal Action

I sense more legal action pending over this one. It seems this is the only way to get any kind of response from this mad man. In fact he seems to welcome such conflict.

Such a sad little man with a sad little brain. Has a severe defficiency in the common sense centre of his brain. Too much money available too.

A culture of recklessness

The AAT report refelects a culture of recklessness and a complete disregard for safety and regulatory compliance. Add to this a contempt for those in authority and you can understand the demise of this operation.

I only trust that wherever SKYDIVE CITY moves to, that those involved read this AAT report and note the warning contained within.

fluffy

If one reads the AAT decision (and has the mental capability of understanding the written word) it is blatantly obvious that the three ring circus comprises

Luke McWilliam, Greg Bayle and the CEO of the APF Graham Windsor.

Porch monkey had to have a say and obviously has the brains of a gnat and that will be confirmed with his next post.

IBTS

Graham Windsor announced his intention to retire as CEO of the APF late 2007.

“At the mid year Board meeting on Friday, 23 November 2007, I advised the Board of my intention to retire prior to the next Board meeting scheduled for May 2008

I have spent the past 17 years at the APF office, and it is time for me to move along, and get a little more balance in my personal life, but I will continue to support the APF in its activities after my departure, if and as required.

I will be working with the HBoM to plan a smooth transition to whoever is selected as my replacement.

This is likely to occur sometime around March 2008.”
I believe no replacement has been found to date.

Obviously the wizard of auz/the knowall of auz (with over 2000 posts he must know it all, or has an opinion on it all) has had very little to add to this thread and really couldn't care less that after all this time the authorities have finally stopped a parachute operation that could not operate to the regulations set for parachuting making it safe for ALL aviators.
Big brother has spoken for all of us finally stopping an unsafe operation, and it now appears the three ring circus has to find another drop site, sadely for those who did drop at BHA a few years ago and followed the regs.
I have been to BHA and it is a great area for recreational flying including parachuting with Bass Strait/Coast to the south, Port Phillip Bay/Melbourne to the north, The Rip and Mornington Peninsular to the East and the Great Ocean Road and The Otways to the west. All this can be seen when airborne over BHA making it one of the great areas to fly in Oz.
Sadly there have been some vitriolic comments by some in relation to the operations at BHA over the years on various threads but to a degree I can now understand the frustration that has been caused by the 'circus' and the lack of action by the governing authorities.
That frustration has now been halted by the decision of the AAT.
After reading the decision on the AAT site it is now up to the parachute federation to take the action they should have taken years ago and stop those who were part of the parachute operation at BHA from having any further involvement in conducting a parachute operation anywhere else in Oz.
To those at BHA who have continued to fight this cowboy operator, you have done the right thing for all those who use BHA or may want to use it in future. We can now visit BHA knowing that we will not be confronted by parachutes.
