If you had a bottomless pit of money?

Well we all know money helps

Some of us have got/had more than others. Some are lucky to have really wealthy family to help us along. If you're like me, you've had to hold down 2+ jobs at a time.

If, for instance... You had an endless supply of money, would have you done your aviation career differently? What endorsements would you buy, and where would you go? Do you think with a bottomless pit of money, you could enter your dream job/aircraft without having 5-10 years of various experience?

Just a question that I'd like to ask my Proone friends out there, to see what your opinion is on how money can actually help you along. The reason why I ask is because a friend of mine with a wealthy background bought a B737 endorsement, and got a job flying a B737 in the U.K with around 300 hours.

Thanks in advance

If I had a bottomless pit of money, I wouldn't have made aviation a career choice, just bought myself a BIG kickass aircraft or two and be done with it!!

Hi 2P2D

Sure, most of us cant go and buy a 737 rating at 300 hours, but I bet you and I are a hell of a better pilot for doing it the hard, slow way.

I bet your mate could not get a heavy 206 off a short strip in weather thats not the best with marginal navigational instruments.

Its all about experiance. I feel I am a much more compitent pilot having come through the GA scene. You would be able to make better decision when it counts because no dout you will have a few moments in your GA career when your wishing you hadnt got up that morning.

Just my thoughts

They were a little late coming out with it (for me) but to do your PPL in Concorde. Being more realistic I'll put my hand up to fly trolleys S76 - after installing a rear vision mirror so to ogle the penthouse pet.

No career in 'the game'as it were, but a personal ride that was Scramjet equipped so I can get to London or Europe, sub-orbital, in a couple of hours

P.S I wonder how many fresh-water wells the equivalent cash would buy in Africa?

Hmm...a Bottomless pit of money

I'd start off with a thousand year reich of europe....

refer to myself in the third person....

breed a race of perfect women...

bring back the xy falcon...

I'd ban all capital letters....

i'd make it law that lose had to be spelt loose...

buy area 51...

fly ufo's from said area...

hand fly a space shuttle re-entry...

...the rest i'd probably just squander.

I don't understand the question. My life is a bottomless pit of money.

I shovel the money in, and that's the last I see of it

But it was a serious question

Ok time to be serious...

I'd buy a fleet of Buffalo's and Caribou's and paint them all black. They would fly passengers to destinations around the world. It would be like the old days where every flight was an adventure and passengers are treated like kings/queens. Flight attendants would be painted green and work nude to entertain the pax .

Otherwise i'd just spend everything on Macca's and KFC

Tiger.

Interesting business plan!

The only problem is that ..................

..... all your pax will have died of old age before they arrive anywhere!

Talking

Serious?

OK I'd buy a fleet of Jungle jets crewed by pi d off Australian pilots currently flying around OZ,

FO's, all applicants are welcome and assessed equally, my airline is not a boys club,
you will as a FO start at 75K then after the 'usually' learning curve of 6 months progress till you hit the FO max rate of 85k, then lets talk you becoming a skipper.

Skippers, min pay would be 200 large and I'd allow you to walk in with your hard earned seniority plus current T & C's I'd also add a hefty 15%.

All salary to be paid either in USD or Euros, its up to you.

All employees would receive:

Free family health + Dental
Private family education assistance
Company assisted family higher education
Removal assistance and days off for said removal
Company board members made up of 1 member from each division, their role will clearly be defined to act in the company's interest and not their own.

then after losing a pot of money, but enjoying myself I'd sell the bugger off and with what little thats left over I'd buy an Island of the Qld coast to don my white suite with my new little short friend and invite holiday makers to visits my Fantasy Island.

Oh and my own US101.

yeah, I keep shovelling in to mine as well...

I would just buy one of each a/c ever made. or two. and let anybody who wants to learn to fly the bas***ds learn to fly for free, just as long as they show some respect for the machine

simple and idealistic...but I'm sure it would be more fun than digging holes
