What's that huge lump on the back of the Virgin I saw yesterday?

Only some have it. Behind the wing, on top, before the tail. Entertainment system?

Thanks smoker. It must be full of record players: the QF lumps are half the size.

It's the TV antenna.

QF planes don't have TV. Just a Satcom antenna.

It's not a TV aerial, that would be underneath. Satellite gear would be on top, TV underneath.

I managed to get a look inside during one of our turn-arounds today.

I haven't seen one of these since the late 90's.

I asked the captain however he refused to comment.

I think we can safely rule out a place for Virgin pilots to keep their wallets...

Jetstar might need one then, so they can charge their pilots a $10 entry fee to the cockpit, .

I thought that the 737 bump might have meant that Virgin might not be so "Viginal" any longer, and was now in the family way. (little jungle jets on the way)
I wonder how Ralph Magazine would handle that one?
Or would that be more of an Australian Aviation type of thing?

Max, we could combine the two to create a whole new magazine. This would most certainly save a lot of perimeter fence lurkers having to subscribe to the two magazines you previously mentioned.

I wont flinch when I look you in the eye and tell you I have come across those who would father an aeroplane if they could.

Now, if it was a thread about lumps on the front of a virgin, that would really be interesting.

Topend3,
you never cease to amaze me.
Since when has live TV been superior to .............? I can't actually think of what live TV is superior to.

Your own screen and watch Oprah maybe?

A sleeping pill or bucket of red wine would suit be better.

Re the piccy; What is a jigowatt?
according to the fountain of (useless) knowledge[1] that is wikipedia, it's a mis-spelling of gigawatt... In other news, I was a little disappointed that there is no entry on wikipedia for thronomister...

[1] Of course, pprune is still #1 repository of useless knowledge
