Could this be the death knell of D & G General Aviation & Questions?

I've been sticking my nose in here for about 9 months now ...

Learnt a bit ...

Quite a bit, actually ...

Had a few scraps ...

Been savaged a few times ...

Kicked arse once or twice ...

Had a bit of fun ...

Made a few friends ...

and a few not so friends ...

But ...

we seem to have been reduced to ...

"what do [insert something] do that really annoys you" ...

crap solliloquies ...

and

"Cooking for dummies"

Even the Chuckler from Chimbu has taken to verbally thumping low time 172 drivers, in place of his generally carefully crafted words of wisdom that are rooted (no, not that "rooted") in a bedrock of hard won knowledge and experience!

Is this the end?

or

is it just time to move on?

Dr

Nine months eh? Your profile suggests you have been a registered user for three months and sixteen days only, having registered on January 18, 2007.

Maybe time for you to move on if you don't wish to be here?

Registration as a PPRuNe user is not a pre requisite for your first flying job, FTDK!

FTDK will be undergoing sanitary ablutions for the next three days.

Also, for some odd reason, he can't seem to find this particular thread........

Perhaps he should have his computer checked?

The following is a serious comment.

I suspect that the short answer is a resounding NO!!!!

Admittedly in the last few weeks this particular forum has indeed become what I would term IMHO somewhat more robust and developing a tendency to push the envelope as it were a little harder than normal.

Having been a PPrUner for a few years now I am of the opinion that the slight digression we are now seeing is nothing more than a slightly harder push on the envelope!

I'm sure that the Mods will pull us back into line if we transgress too far!!
Other than that, I am enjoying the slight change myself. Maybe the Dunnunda and Godzone forums could do with their own version of Jet Blast?

Mods; A suggestion for Danny maybe?

Tailwheel,

Behave yourself or you too can go and scrub the Dr's back!!
This implies more than one person is scratching the Dr's back. Who are the rest??!!

Every forum has periods where a few junk threads pop up here and there. The mods keep it mostly under control. You have the power to click on the threads that may have an obvious interest to you. If its so hard to read through a few thread titles until you find something thats of use to you then yes, perhaps it is time to leave.

I enjoy reading a bit of light hearted banter, as long as there is still a good supply of useful threads which currently, there are.

"D & G General Aviation & Questions (65 Viewing)
The place for students, instructors and charter guys."

That pretty much says to me. A place for low hour students (mostly flying 172s), instructors (mostly low hour’s flying 172s), and charter guys (who mostly start out low hour’s flying 172s).

If you didn't want to hear from these people why would you even enter the forum

The Doc was just lamenting the general direction of the threads. Don't think there is a issue with low time anybodies in D&GGA&Q.

Dr Rat don't you think this topic is going down the same path as all the others that your complaining about?

Your right "useless" and/or "fun" posts should be put in there own spot but I (and I think others would agree) would like to keep them all downunder. Could the moderators start another D&G for these threads?
