G'day,

I have the briefing notes and the approach plates for the 767 sim check that is used for QantasLink/Eastern.

If you would like a copy send me a PM.

Cheers,

M/E.

Also I need to mention I have not completed the interview/sim check I just got a copy from a friend who was recently accepted into QantasLink.

Nup. Still recruiting strongly from GA, I know 3 people who have done interview/sim within last few weeks, 2 were successful. I know others booked for interview/sim within the next month.

Re the cadets - so what? If you're that scared of them you need to make yourself more competitive. You can't take responsibility for anyone else - there will always be others more and less fortunate than you.

Cheer up people! Everything's not a damn conspiracy! Times are good.

I agree dragon, times are good, lets all share what we know and not conspire with a selected few...

In light of this.. Can anyone share any information on either their own experiences of others they know of who have been back to Qlink for a second attempt. Particularly information on questions they were asked on the interview the second time around.

Cheers

FN

Yeah, I know a guy who got in second time around. Just much better prepared than the first, and he ended up pretty much "topping the class" of his intake. On his interview, they asked him lots of IFR questions, but I don't know if that's their habit, or just what they chose for him. No trick questions apparently, all quite congenial.

F. Nut, I was on the March ground school and there were 8 or 9 others

Numbers are dynamic. Good luck.

For those wanting to know, the Qlink sim stage is conducted in the Melbourne TMA. They use nil wind thorughout. Normal session goes something like so:

T/O not assessed
Climb to 3000ft
Some rate one turning onto specified HDG
Some climb and descents at specified IAS and/or RoC
More rate one turning onto specified HDG
Asked to intercept particular radial of BOL NDB
Further intercepts using RMI at BOL
Brief and fly ML 16 NDB (previously TLOC)
Overshoot and climb to 3000ft
More turning, climbing and descending at specified rates, IAS, speeds
Steep turns (45 degrees)
Vectors for pilot intercept of ILS
Brief and fly ML 16 ILS
Sim ceases at minima!

Make sure power and attitude memorised. Remember the old adage:
POWER + ATTITUDE = PERFORMANCE!!

Good luck, and just have some fun!

Gidday Howie H.

I was on the March ground school, ie as "Bloggs on". 3 simex's later and STILL holding out for those people in CASA to rubber stamp the medical. They took my $130 quick sticks!
