Aircraft Insurance
What are you guys currently paying for aircraft insurance?
For my private C172 I am paying 2.75% of hull + GST + stamp duty.
For $3m in CSL liability for the above aircraft I am paying $1,100 + GST + stamp duty.
Does anybody have any experience with or know anything about Asset Insure who have started operating in competition with QBE?

YES, you're getting a good rate.
Nominal rates are 7% of Hull value for a new player etc.
With a good history, you can sometimes get it down to 3%.
This would normally require nominated pilots, minimum experience levels if an advanced single (C210 etc) and specified experience if Multi.
Typically C210 and PA31 attract insurance company attention, however,
with nominated pilots and specified minimums they can end up as affordable
as the rest of the fleet.
You must have a good broker, and probably you are able to tick all the boxes to be considered for below 3%.
Depending on aircraft type, who is going to fly it, the nature of the operation,
and a sustained no claim history, it is sometimes, but rarely, possible to get to 2%.
Sleep easy, you've done OK.

Just as a point of reference, we insure our J430 Experimental a/c with QBE via a broker, one of us has >28,000 hrs exp and one of us....3 digits only , and we pay about 3.2%. No charter no leasing for flight training etc...perfect record.....and thats all up including all risks and fees and GST.
Not a bad deal really.
But I bet if you challenge the point you can do better. There are a few others out there so look around. Keep the bastrads honest they say

c152 in NZ
I just got my invoice for c152, insured value $50,000 premium $2295.30 which include full no-claims. (This is an imported service so no GST involved) Leased to aeroclub so includes ab-initio, etc, everything you would expect of a trainer.
Still, makes the original post lok quite good.
