I'm not saying this to sound harsh or heartless, but I would like to recommend that you improve your English before embarking on a degree in Australia (particularly aviation). I strongly believe that the minimum IELTS requirement of 6.5 is too low to function at a good level, and if you want decent grades, you will need to work harder at English. Poor English will also not reflect well in interviews or on your application form.

As for Griffith, it's pretty good from what I have seen, but their entry requirements are not that lax either and I believe it will also be competitive to get a place on the programme.

No offence to anyone but this aviation degree is a basket-weaving qual. The level of science is not tough.

My crash buddy did this course, the subject matter was not that difficult. Boring as bat**** but otherwise a diddle.

Who needs a degree to be an airline pilot? The Yanks used to, not anymore. Why waste your time? Anyone who secretly wants to be management should just go and do an MBA.

The airlines don't want smart pilots and neither does Joe Lighty with his C210 outfit.

"How is the budget"? Do you mean how much you should budget for?

For an international student, the tuition fees at university will probably (just an estimate) be around AUD20,000 per year. You need to add the cost of flying training to that figure. So it's likely to be at least AUD100,000 to get a degree and a CPL with MECIR, if not up to even around AUD120,000.

Didn't take long for one to come in.

aviation degree is a basket-weaving qual

the subject matter was not that difficult
Agreed for the science-based subjects, not so otherwise. To do well in them anyway.

neither does Joe Lighty with his C210 outfit
I dont think anyone EVER said that. Or would even think it.

How can you say No offence, then come straight out and be offensive?

My crash buddy did this course, the subject matter was not that difficult.
Not difficult for your buddy, but then again he obviously had the ability to undertake the course. You on the other hand have not done the course so how can you possibly offer an opinion? From your post, I would imagine that your lack of intelligence would make this course difficult for you.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. Degrees, no matter what type, do not neccessarily prove that you are smarter than others but they do prove that you have the ability to apply yourself and commit to many hours of study to achieve your qualification. A degree says more about a persons character than their intelligence.

"A degree says more about a persons character than their intelligence"

Hmmmmmm! Very interesting!

So

Character = Degree x n

or

Character = 1/(Degree x n)

(where n is an integer equal to the number of university degrees held by the person who's character is being assessed)

??

Surely "n" would be the number of degrees?

i think UNSW is quite good......but i just cannot .....

i have 3 choices:

1)UNSA
2)Griffith University
3)Swinburne University

which one is better for the student who do not have science background
i know it's tough...but the dream job gives me passion!
