Can anybody help identify a six engine prop aircraft notice overhead Sunshine Coast on Sunday 14th January at approx 11am local. It appeared to have departed YBMC and was tracking north.

Maybe it was a Cessna 206?

Cheers,
Tiger.

Talking

Challenge accepted T ...

Let me dig up a photo a friend sent me of a discretely modded 206 that they saw flying around which remotely matches the description...

C206Z-6000 apparently, currently operating in the experimental category involved in charter ops after it took the scenic route on it's ferry and was seen near Brisbane on that date. Not sure where this was taken although that vista sends a shiver down my spine followed by sharp, involuntary gagging for some reason. I'll see what other details I can find out however I do know that tiptanks were no longer optional equipment.

I'm sure there was a particular DHC aircraft in Brisbane around that time, but can't remember which model ...

Interesting photo. VH-WTF

now its obvious why I recall the rego Whiskey Tango F#@kup

But I believe its now a Cirrus SR22 from a mag article with a photo in it recently.

Someone must love the rego, and traded in the old C206!!!!

vh-wtf

zulu, vh-wtf misses you too. Id recognise that piece of water anywhere...that is the only lake with water in it in the country is it not. Every other dam ive seen recently was pretty dry.

Tiger, didn't realise you knew what a 206 looked like let alone how many engines it had. Hope you are enjoying the new job!
Cheers, DD
