Supercubs In NZ
Hey all,
Just after any information regarding if there are any supercubs available for hire in the south island of NZ?
Aside from the one at CAC and Timaru, does anyone know if there is one elsewhere? I'd like to do some touring, with or without an instructor.
Trying to get a few more tailwheel hours.
Cheers or any help!

Citabria?
There's also a Citabria, based at Wakatipu Aero Club in Queenstown. Not a Super cub, but a STOL tandem 150 hp taildragger, so very similar in many ways. Flies very nicely, and aerobatic too. Wicked, wicked scenery, and solid mountain flying training available down here. Club can be contacted on (03) 4423148.
(Full disclosure - I am a member of syndicate that owns CRH, and leases her back to WAC. She is, nonetheless, a great machine.)

Yep the one at Wigram owned by the CFI at Chch flying school, he is a very good instructor, go speak to those guys. Pm for more info. (got my PA.18 rating, but only 100hp model, it is not a PA.18-150 rating..)
You missed out on a good opportunity for tailwheel training, a chap used to hire his Maule (ZK-SLS) out to the flying school there, he has recently sold it to the north island, great machine, was priviledged to have done a few hours in it (quite a well known Maule), but that Cub is still available, your best shot in the area I believe.

thanks for all your replies, very much appreciated.
While I'm here, I may aswell mention I'll be going up to Palmerston North after the south island - any local supercubs around there? (I'm not addicted to them, honestly...I'm not).
cheers,
Pheeel

Supercub NZ
In 2003 I did 12 hours on a Supercub with Vince at Motueka near Nelson. Excellent location near the Abel Tasman national park, with some challenging grass mountain strips ! Find him on the internet, but not sure if they have the Cub
